Educated at Eton and at Wadham College, Oxford. Matric 19 Nov 1828, aged 15, B.A. 1832, M.A. 1837

Rev. Thomas Allies, was a curate of Henbury, in Worcestireshire in 1813, and later became Rector of Wormington, some twelve miles from Cheltenham.

Frances Elizabeth Fripp

Frances was the daughter of a Bristol Merchant. She died a week after the birth of her son Thomas William (Feb 1813)

Edgar Innes Fripp

Author and biographer of William Shakespeare. He occasionally gave lectures on British and Italian art.

Edgar and his wife are both in the same grave at Stratford-upon-Avon. Their son, Paul, is mentioned on the footstone, but it is not clear if he also shares the grave.

Edgar & Edith may have had a daughter, Rose Mary Fripp, born and died in Belfast, Ireland, Mar qtr 1892.

Ethel Fripp

Ethel Beck was born on Sept. 20, 1910 to Harold and Gertie Fripp of Cannington Manor. She passed away peacefully at Deer View Lodge, Wawota on Monday, Dec. 16, 2002 at the age of 92 years. Ethel worked for several people in the area until 1930, when she married Thomas Beck on Nov. 10, 1930. They had two sons, Harold and Ronald.
Tom and Ethel had a long and happy life together. Hard work was never a problem. Ethel loved her garden, flowers and playing the piano and organ and her farm chores and animals. She was a member of All Saints Guild and also the Homemakers.
Tom served as church warden for 26 years. At 93 he still has a interest in the church. On Nov. 10, 2002 Tom and Ethel celebrated there 72nd anniversary at Deer View Lodge with cake, ice cream and music by Vince Waynert from Broadview. Tom resides at Coteau Place, Arcola. Survived by her loving husband, Tom; sons Harold and Ron; sister Florence and niece Alice and many friends.
Funeral service was held from Wawota United Church on Saturday, Dec. 21, 2002 with Rev. Michelle Moore and Rev. Marlene Haygarth officiating. Interment was in the Cannington Manor Cemetery. Urn Bearer was Walter Turton. The family considered all of Ethel’s friends and family in attendance as honorary pallbearers, including special friends: Donald Templeton, Wes and Heather Thomas, Mary Davis, Dorothy Davies and Jean Hindmarch.
G.R. Carscadden Funeral Chapels - Moosomin and Wawota were in care of arrangements.
